
(Shanghai) The globalleading supplier of portable electric power tools and accessories, Bosch Power Tools organised the “Invented for Life - Bosch Power Tools Cordless Race Competition 2010” in Shanghai, after one month of preliminary competition. Eight out of fourteen teams qualified for the final race held at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. Team Peak finished the race securing the top place, followed behind byTeam Leopard for the second placing. The best design award went toTeam Sharp, whileTeam New Dynamics emerged the favourite amongst online voters.
Bosch Power Tools organised the competition with an aim toencourage and inspire creativity amongst the younger generation. This competition demonstrates Bosch Power Tools’ commitment to the continuous development of innovative and best-in-class technologies and products for its users.

Student teams from different universities and technical institutions across China were invited to send in their entries - to design and build vehicles powered entirely by Bosch cordless Lithium-ion drills/drivers for the Cordless Race Competition 2010. From April 25 to May 17, the teams carriedout three road tests for the vehicles’ power system, stability and security. Based on the test results, eight teams were shortlistedfor the final race. Competing teams at the race were tested and judged not just by their driving skills - but also their engineering expertise and understanding of safety issues.
The winning team, and the team with the best design will each receive a cash prize of RMB10,000, a set of 15 Bosch power tools, and have the privilege to internship opportunities with Bosch Power ToolsChina.

Team Leader, Bai Yunpeng,from the winning teamsaid, “This competition challenged us in our thoughts, ideas and stamina, as we had to implement our theoretical capabilities in practice, and put our team spirit to the test to finish the race. This experience will no doubt be a valuable part for our future career development.”
